'Probate' refers to the estate administration process of a person who died with or without a Will.

Use of the website

This site is designed to be accessed through the principle homepage or such other pages as we may decide. If you access the site through an individual page directly, which is not designed for this purpose, you may not see important information that may be relevant to a full understanding of the services and information this website provides.

Part of the site is to help you to partially administer the assets, debts, Will and other affairs (which we refer to as the 'estate') of a recently deceased person. In these terms, the word 'site' or 'website' includes use of the Simplify Channel Ltd online guidance tool, our online Probate system, information service and any algorithms we may use.

The personal representatives are ultimately responsible for the Probate process. If you are not a personal representative, you must have express verbal or written authority from all personal representatives to use this site, but the personal representatives must be aware that they retain ultimate responsibility for the probate process.

By using this website and starting the Probate process you confirm:

1. That the personal representatives and the deceased's surviving spouse or civil partner (if any) are aware that you'll be required to provide details about them, including their name, contact details and date of birth.

2. That you're aware that the site isn't suitable for all estates and it's not a comprehensive solution. It's a service that provides suggestions based on the information you submit and the most used outcomes based on, but not limited to, national statistics and professional opinions. We can't accept responsibility for the appropriateness of the suggestions.

Availability of the site

Whilst we've taken care in the preparation of the site, certain technical matters may be beyond our control and we can't guarantee that you'll have uninterrupted or error free access to all of the site at all times, that defects will be remedied, or that the site, or the server that makes the site available, are virus free.

Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis. Access may be suspended occasionally or restricted without notice to allow for repair or maintenance or for the introduction of new services or content. Changes in Probate and inheritance tax law may mean we make changes to the site from time to time. We are not obliged to inform you of such changes.

We can't be liable to you for any losses, damages or costs (whether arising in contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise) arising as a result of the fact that we didn't inform you of changes to the law and/or as a result of your failure to act or as a result of not acting within presented timescales.

Our obligations to third parties

The website is provided solely for your benefit and is intended for use by you alone. You may not register on another person's behalf, though this doesn't affect your right to use the website on behalf of the personal representatives, as described above.

We assume no liability to any third party, including (but not limited to) the personal representatives, the surviving spouse or civil partner, the beneficiaries, the estate's creditors, The Probate Service or HMRC.

Our obligations to home visits

Any home visits conducted as a result of the information supplied to or from this site are subject to the same terms and conditions, unless the contrary is agreed upon the home visit or an additional contract separate to the Simplify Channel Ltd website is entered into.

All home visits are no obligation and Simplify Channel Ltd reserves the right to cancel or amend any booked appointments.

Card payments

If you've signed up for a service during a home visit for which we've taken payment, you have a right to cancel your agreement during the cancellation period at no charge. The cancellation period begins on the day on which you sign up to the service at the home visit and ends 7 days later. After 7 days, you may end the agreement at any time by giving notice to the provider in writing. You'll be liable to pay the charges for any services provided after the end of the 7 day period and up to the date of cancellation. If a refund is due, it will be made back to your original payment card.

Should the home visit be scheduled within the 7 day cancellation period, you may end the agreement at any time by notice to the provider in writing. However you will be liable to pay charges for any services provided prior to and up to the date of cancellation. If a refund is due it will be made back to your original payment card.


We'll store the information you've provided and electronic versions of any compiled forms and reports for at least 12 months after you've submitted your data. After that time, we reserve the right to delete all data and documents permanently, subject to any separate obligations we may have relating to storage of client data.

If you've not performed any action for a period of 12 months, we reserve the right to cancel and delete your user account, including permanent deletion of all forms and data, without notice or explanation.

Breaches of these terms and conditions

If you breach these terms and conditions we may take such action as we deem appropriate. We can do so without prejudice to our other rights under these terms and conditions.


If you breach these terms and we don't take immediate action against you we are still entitled to enforce our rights and remedies in respect of any such breach or any subsequent breach.

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.
